By accessing, registering for, downloading, or using Doom-MU, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website, launcher, or game services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Doom-MU and any related services, including the website, game client, downloads, rankings, Discord, and support channels, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not accept these terms, you must stop using Doom-MU.
Doom-MU is a non-commercial private game server operated by an independent operator. Doom-MU is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Webzen Inc. or any other rights-holder of the MU Online IP. All references to MU Online assets are used for the sole purpose of running this private community service.
These Terms of Service work together with our Privacy Policy and Donation & Refund Policy. By using Doom-MU you agree to all three.
2. Account Registration
To use certain parts of Doom-MU, you may need to create an account. By registering, you agree that:
- the information you provide must be accurate and complete
- you are responsible for keeping your login details secure
- you may not share, sell, trade, or transfer your account to another person
- only one account per player is allowed unless the administration states otherwise
- you must be at least 13 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian
You are fully responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
3. Acceptable Use
When using Doom-MU, you agree that you will not:
- use cheats, bots, hacks, macros, exploits, or unauthorized third-party tools
- abuse bugs or glitches instead of reporting them
- threaten, harass, insult, or deliberately abuse other players
- use racist, hateful, discriminatory, or offensive language
- attempt to access accounts, data, or server systems without permission
- take part in real-money trading unless expressly approved by the administration
- spam chat, flood communication channels, or disturb normal gameplay
- pretend to be a staff member, administrator, or another player
- use multiple accounts to gain an unfair gameplay advantage
Any behavior that harms the server, its community, or fair gameplay may lead to action against your account.
4. Donations, Credits, and Virtual Items
Doom-MU may accept optional donations to support the running costs of the server. Donations are voluntary — you are not required to donate to play. The full game and all core gameplay features are available to every player free of charge.
As a token of appreciation, donors receive website credits that can be used in the in-game shop. By making a donation, you understand and agree that:
- donations are voluntary and never required to play
- all virtual items, coins, credits, and rewards are part of the game service only and have no real-world cash value
- credits and items are delivered immediately on payment confirmation; by donating you expressly request immediate performance and waive any statutory right of withdrawal once the credits are delivered (including, where applicable, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU)
- all donations are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or under the limited cases described in our Donation & Refund Policy
- donation tier contents, credit amounts, and shop items may change at any time
4.1 Payment Processors
Card and crypto payments are handled by independent third-party processors (currently PayPal, NowPayments, and Tebex). When you donate, you also agree to that processor's own terms. We never see or store your full card number; we only receive a transaction reference and the e-mail address you used at checkout. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-sharing breakdown.
4.2 Chargebacks and Disputes
Opening a chargeback or payment-provider dispute on a donation that we have already delivered, without first contacting us, is treated as a serious breach of these Terms. In response we may suspend or permanently ban the account, apply IP/hardware restrictions, refuse future donations from the same identity, and provide the payment processor with the full transaction logs, this Terms of Service, the Donation & Refund Policy, and the account history so the processor can decide accordingly. Full procedure: see the Donation & Refund Policy.
Doom-MU reserves the right to change prices, rewards, item values, rates, packages, or supported payment processors at any time.
5. Gameplay Rules and Fair Play
All players must follow the rules published on the website, Discord, forum, or in-game announcements.
To keep the server balanced and fair, Doom-MU may at any time:
- change server rates
- adjust events, drops, items, and gameplay systems
- remove bugged, duplicated, or abused items
- reset characters, rankings, or systems when necessary
- perform maintenance, restarts, or rollbacks
We are not responsible for losses of progress, items, or ranking caused by maintenance, balancing changes, technical problems, or rule enforcement.
6. Penalties and Enforcement
Breaking these Terms or any server rules may result in penalties, including:
- warnings
- temporary suspension
- permanent account ban
- character reset
- item or currency removal
- IP or hardware-based restrictions
- loss of donated rewards or premium benefits
All penalties are applied at the administration's discretion. Players may appeal through official support channels, but final decisions remain with Doom-MU staff.
7. Ownership of Accounts and Virtual Content
All game accounts, characters, items, currencies, rankings, and other in-game data are part of the Doom-MU service and remain under the control of Doom-MU.
You do not own any account, character, or virtual item. You are only granted limited access to use them while the service is active and while your account remains in good standing.
8. Intellectual Property
MU Online and related original game assets, names, and materials belong to their respective owners, including Webzen and any other rightful holders.
Doom-MU is a private server created for entertainment purposes. Any custom content, branding, website materials, designs, and server-specific content created for Doom-MU remain the property of Doom-MU unless otherwise stated.
9. Limitation of Liability
Doom-MU is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without guarantees or warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee that the website, game server, or related services will always be available, error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Doom-MU and its staff will not be responsible for:
- account loss
- item loss
- downtime
- service interruptions
- data loss
- unauthorized account access
- payment processor issues
- technical errors or game bugs
Your use of Doom-MU is at your own risk.
10. Privacy
Your use of Doom-MU may involve the collection of account information, IP addresses, gameplay logs, and other technical data needed to operate the service, enforce rules, and improve security.
By using Doom-MU, you agree to our Privacy Policy and any related data practices described there.
11. Changes to These Terms
Doom-MU may update or revise these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice.
Any updated version becomes effective once published on the website. Your continued use of Doom-MU after such changes means you accept the revised terms.
